Aston Martin DBX S features 727-horsepower V8 engine and carbon ceramic brakes

Aston Martin's high-performance SUV, the DBX S, has been unveiled, equipped with a 727-horsepower V8 engine. This model, which forms a price range in the 300 million won level, shows improved output compared to the 707 horsepower of the existing DBX 707 model.

According to the video, the Aston Martin DBX S delivers an output of 727 horsepower, surpassing the 707 horsepower of the existing DBX 707 model. The powertrain installed in this vehicle is based on an AMG V8 engine and shares some technical elements of the engine used in vehicles starting in the 1.5 billion won range.

The chassis configuration supporting the performance was also confirmed. Carbon ceramic brakes are applied to the 23-inch wheels, and the tires are 35/30 ZR 23 size all-season tires. In the exterior design, the front grille takes a protruding shape, showing a grille design similar to the past Zagato concept car. In the case of the air intakes, a design was adopted where the front part is blocked to prevent paint damage from flying stones during driving.

The side design features a structure where the pillars between the glass are almost touching and has frameless doors. The door handles take a shape that pops out backward, which is a method Aston Martin has used previously.

Characteristics of interior materials and components

The interior space features leather materials and dark chrome finishes. The rear seat folding button is manufactured in the form of a cord instead of plastic, and the floor carpet is unified with the interior color. Additionally, a carbon roof is applied to the top of the rear seats.

Some of the interior components share parts from Mercedes-Benz. While some functions such as switches used Mercedes-Benz products, some elements such as window switches were developed and applied in-house. Also, due to the characteristics of the British car brand, the switch to open the hood is placed on the passenger side rather than the driver's side.

Inside the hood, tower bars made of aluminum alloy are placed on both sides. One side is made as a casting, and the other side is made by welding square pipes. The wheel house part under the hood is designed with a thin thickness.

Digital interface and audio system

In terms of the digital interface, 'Apple CarPlay Ultra', where the screen extends to the instrument cluster, has been applied. In the video, while the configuration of the screen is confirmed, shortcomings in software aspects such as ease of operation, translation, and the responsiveness of the voice assistant Siri were mentioned.

The sound system is equipped with B&W (Bowers & Wilkins) audio. Aston Martin is a brand that creates a characteristic feeling in terms of sound, and this model also reveals its presence through the engine sound and exhaust design.
