Burger King Maison Truffle Cheese Burger: Brioche Bun and Mushroom Aroma at a Higher Price Than the Whopper
Burger King has released the 'Maison Truffle Cheese Burger,' a premium product featuring a brioche bun and double mushroom sauces…
The new product 'Maison Truffle Cheese Burger' released by Burger King has arrived with a composition and price range that differentiates it from the existing Whopper series. According to the video content released on the Mat Sangmu YouTube channel, unlike the Mushroom Truffle Whopper lineup that is released every autumn, this new product takes the form of a 'burger' and aims for a luxurious taste.
Different Bun and Patty Composition from the Whopper
The Maison Truffle Cheese Burger shows several key differences from the existing Whopper series. First, the type of bread (bun) is different. Unlike the Whopper, which uses a 5-inch classic sesame bun, this product uses an approximately 10cm 4-inch bun. The type of bun is also not a sesame bun but uses a brioche bun or a milk bun, realizing a chewy and soft texture instead of the coarse texture of sesame seeds.
The patty composition also differs. While the Whopper uses a 100% beef patty, the Maison Truffle Cheese Burger uses a Burger King exclusive patty. The size of the product is definitely smaller than the Whopper, but it is characterized by a heavy feeling due to its rich contents. The price is 10,500 won for a single item, forming a higher price range compared to the existing Mushroom Truffle Whopper, which was 9,700 won for a single item.
Taste Emphasizing Double Sauce and Mushroom Flavor
As the product name includes 'Maison,' which means 'house' in French, there are traces of effort to reproduce the luxurious taste enjoyed in a restaurant, much like the name suggests. The core of the taste lies in the sauce composition. Based on mushroom sauce, truffle cheese sauce is added twice to add flavor. The components include lettuce, bacon, and patty, along with button mushrooms and enoki mushrooms (in the form of mangadak mushrooms).
According to the Mat Sangmu video, the button mushrooms produce a deep aroma, and the enoki mushrooms provide a tender texture. However, the taste or thickness of the cheese is not as strong as expected, and it is characterized by the mushroom aroma being felt more strongly than the cheese aroma. The accompanying 'Truffle Mushroom Pie Royal (2,700 won)' is a fried squid ink pie dough form, which produces a salty taste along with a starchy, thick sauce.
In conclusion, while this new product is characterized by the chewy texture of the brioche bun and the deep mushroom aroma, the evaluation is that it would have been better if the cheese flavor had been reinforced a bit more, considering the high price range.
