As autumn deepens, festivals where you can enjoy magnificent waves of flowers near Seoul are being held. The first travel destination is Goseokjeong Flower Field in Cheorwon, Gangwon, which has been named the number one autumn travel destination in the country. This site, which transformed a large area formerly used as a military training ground into a flower field, boasts an overwhelming scale of approximately 233,000 square meters and has now established itself as a representative autumn flower attraction for Cheorwon. In particular, from mid-September to mid-October, the representative scenery here is the massive wave of flowers created by intense red cockscomb forming wide flower fields.

A major attraction is the ability to encounter various seasonal flowers in one place. In September, varieties such as candle cockscomb, globe amaranth, zinnia, cosmos, and Bebeena reach their peak, and from October, Pokia and pink muhly reach their peak. However, since the blooming period of each flower varies and is affected by the weather, it is necessary to check before visiting. The adult admission fee is 10,000 won, and 50% of the admission fee is refunded as local gift certificates. Since the flower field is very large, wearing comfortable shoes is essential, and if walking is burdensome, using the can-train that circulates a 1.2km course is also a good method. Looking down at the entire flower field from a high place, you can see the colorful flowers spreading out like one giant painting. After viewing the flowers, it is recommended to move to the nearby Goseokjeong Pavilion to tour the natural scenery including the Hantangang River canyon, strange rock cliffs, and Goseok Rock.

Yangju Nari Farm, welcoming globe amaranth and cosmos sulphureus

The second is the Nari Farm Globe Amaranth Autumn Festa in Yangju, where the largest scale flower festival in Gyeonggi-do is held. About 30 types of autumn flowers bloom on a wide field of approximately 360,000 square meters. The Nari Farm Globe Amaranth Autumn Festa period is from September 26 to October 4, and the Nari Farm own opening period is from September 18 to October 1. The video mentioned that beautiful flowers can be seen until October 25. A large parking lot is provided, and parking is free.

The 5,000 won admission fee is fully refunded as local gift certificates. Here, you can see globe amaranth in various colors such as pink, white, and purple, and globe amaranth reaches its peak from September to early October. In mid-October, clusters of colorful kochia also create a spectacle, followed by diverse landscapes such as clusters of yellow cosmos sulphureus, silvery silver grass, and exotic pampas grass. The observatory located in the center of the park serves as a photo zone and resting space where you can overlook the entire flower field, presenting a landscape like a single work of art in harmony with surrounding sculptures. Gapyeong Jaraseom Flower Festa, where the romance of Bukhangang River meets 24 types of flowers

The last is the Gapyeong Jaraseom Flower Festa, where the waves of the Bukhangang River and flowers harmonize. Under the theme 'A magnificent voyage of flowers spread over blue waves', it is held around Jaraseom Island from September 12 to October 5. A total of 24 different types of autumn flowers, including zinnias, Siberian chrysanthemum, pink muhly, cockscomb, Maengmundong, sunflowers, and globe amaranth, elaborately embroider various parts of Jaraseom Island. In particular, the wide zinnia flower field spreading from the entrance catches the footsteps of visitors.

The biggest feature of the Jaraseom Flower Festa is that you can enjoy not only the flowers but also the riverside scenery of the Bukhangang River at the same time. Along with walking the flower paths, boat operations that allow you to see the Bukhangang River up close are also operated, enabling a unique appreciation of nature. During the festival period, busking performances and performances by local artists continue, and a market selling local agricultural specialties and food is also operated, adding to the joy of the outing. It takes about one hour to tour the entire event site, but if you want to slowly look around the flower paths and trails and enjoy the performances and experiences, it is good to set aside plenty of time.
