SEULGI, Seongsu-dong Vintage Furniture Tour… “Designer Furniture Can Be Used Like an Investment”

Singer SEULGI revealed her extraordinary interest in interior design by visiting vintage furniture stores in the Seongsu-dong area. Through a recently released vlog video, SEULGI shared her changed tastes while touring furniture showrooms in Seongsu-dong and its outskirts.

SEULGI visited 'Market Part', a furniture store in Seongsu-dong, to look at various designer furniture. In particular, regarding vintage designer furniture, SEULGI explained her reason for choosing vintage furniture, saying, "Even if the price goes up later, it's worth it. The advantage is that if you use it well, you can treat it like an investment." In the video, SEULGI spent time broadening her eye for design by personally checking famous designer products such as the Maralunga sofa and the LC3 sofa.

SEULGI mentioned that while she preferred colorful styles in the past, she has recently been drawn to furniture that can be used for a long time. She also expressed interest in items such as Akari lighting, saying, "I've developed a desire to add a spoonful of Oriental beauty." Looking around various objects and furniture in the store, SEULGI said, "I intend to use this as a time to broaden my perspective."

LC3 vs Maralunga... Worries over sofa selection and changing tastes

During the process of selecting a sofa, which was a major focus of the furniture tour, SEULGI revealed her deliberations based on the characteristics of the products. After sitting on the Maralunga sofa herself, SEULGI expressed satisfaction, saying, "The leather is so soft that it actually feels cozy." On the other hand, regarding the famous LC3 sofa, she identified the product's characteristics through a conversation with a store employee. The employee did not recommend a specific model, noting, "The LC3 has the disadvantage of sinking too much."

SEULGI mentioned her interior design direction reflecting her lifestyle, saying, "These days, I am torn between Copenhagen style and Wabi-sabi style." In particular, she explained the dream space she wants to realize through interior design, saying, "I want to create a space in my house where I can display albums." Looking at furniture in the form of a workbench, SEULGI added a specific way to use it, saying, "I want to use it sometimes when I draw or write."

After finishing the tour that spanned several stores in Seongsu-dong to the outskirts, SEULGI revealed that this experience held more meaning than just looking around. SEULGI shared her thoughts, saying, "I couldn't make any decisions, but it was good to discover brands I didn't know and to be able to sit on the furniture I was curious about."

SEULGI expressed her joy regarding interior design, saying, "It's fun to gradually decorate my house with my own taste. I think buying these things one by one serves as a point where I can learn what I like." She concluded the tour by adding, "Just being in a space like this is healing, and it gave me the motivation to work hard."
