Shindong faces off against Simu Liu on BlizzCon stage... Asks Diablo IV director questions directly

Broadcaster Shindong attended the game event 'BlizzCon' as a creator invitee and shared the experiences he had on-site. Recently, Shindong released a video through his YouTube channel containing five unforgettable moments from his first-ever visit to BlizzCon.

Beyond being a mere spectator, Shindong participated in an event match called 'Classic Cup' as a StarCraft II player at this BlizzCon. He competed in a 3v3 match alongside legendary pro gamers, and the opposing team included actor Simu Liu, known for the films 'Barbie' and 'Shang-Chi'. Shindong, a long-time fan of Marvel movies, shared the situation of facing the actor on the same gaming stage.

Recalling the situation on stage, Shindong said, "The audience seats were full and there was a live broadcast underway, so the tension was on a different level." He continued, expressing his emotions at the time, "Before going up on stage, I saw Yohan Han practicing. Seeing a player who was my hero during my childhood practicing right next to me gave me a strange feeling, to the point where I didn't know why I was there."

Interview with Diablo IV director... Mention of Diablo 5 and Amazon class

On-site, Shindong met the general director of Diablo IV, Brent Gibson, and asked him questions directly. Regarding the mention of Diablo 5's existence during the opening ceremony, Shindong reported that the director explained, "Diablo 5 begins with a time gap of about 100 years after the journey concluded in Diablo IV." This was an answer to the question of whether the ending of Diablo IV was set specifically for Diablo 5, confirming that the worldviews are connected through a temporal gap between the two works.

Additionally, Shindong asked about the 'Amazon' class that fans have been waiting for for a long time. In response, director Brent Gibson mentioned the direction for future class design, stating, "While respecting the existing ways of using javelins or bows (Javazon, Bowzon), we will fill in a more expanded design space in the way we handle the class."

Demonstration of Diablo IV Switch 2 version and meeting LE SSERAFIM

During the game demonstrations held on-site, he directly played Overwatch, which featured the new hero 'Doctrine', and the Switch 2 version of Diablo IV. Regarding Diablo IV running on Switch 2, Shindong evaluated, "When connected to a TV, the picture quality and frame rate maintenance were good, and it ran well in handheld mode as well," adding, "The fact that you can enjoy Diablo portably was a sufficient merit."

Meanwhile, Shindong revealed an anecdote about failing to visit the goods shop but meeting the group LE SSERAFIM on-site. He said he tried to purchase LE SSERAFIM's Overwatch collaboration jacket but missed out because it was sold out; instead, he had the special experience of greeting the members of LE SSERAFIM and taking photos near the media waiting room.
