Ppotinz's HAUM and JIYU Create 'Thumbs Up Handle' Dishes During Pottery Studio Date

HAUM and JIYU, members of the K-pop group Ppotinz, spent time at a pottery studio making tableware that reflects their individual personalities. In a video released on the KiiiKiii channel on September 23, 2026, the two members are shown in the process of making cups and dishes using the pinching technique.

The two members, encountering pottery making for the first time, began their work based on designs they had envisioned in advance. JIYU conceived a design featuring strawberry and star shapes, while HAUM aimed for a cool form. During the process, HAUM used the 'pinching' technique, where the clay is pressed and widened by pinching it with the fingers. HAUM showed familiarity with the material, stating, "I was even touching clay last night."

However, as the work progressed, shapes appeared that were different from the initial plans. The cup JIYU made grew in size during the production process, becoming similar in size to a vase, leading JIYU to draw laughter by claiming it was "intentional." HAUM also remarked, "It doesn't go according to plan," and went through a process of cutting and attaching clay to adjust the increased size. The two members immersed themselves in the work while exchanging jokes like, "Life doesn't go according to plan."

The finished works reflected the members' tastes and symbolic elements. JIYU attached strawberry and star shapes, which she likes, to her work. In particular, JIYU's work featured a thumb-shaped 'thumbs-up' handle, which was revealed in the video to be made with the meaning of "a thumbs-up being donated."

HAUM created decorations shaped like cat and dog characters. Mentioning that her "conception dream was also a cat," HAUM made a cat-shaped decoration, while JIYU implemented dog ear shapes. JIYU added star shapes to her work, explaining, "It's a star containing the sparkling love of TIKI (fandom)." Looking at each other's works, the two members encouraged one another, saying, "It's art" and "You should go to Seoul Arts Center."

"I don't use dishes often, but..." Interest in tableware and small talk

During the pottery-making process, the two members talked about their usual tableware usage habits. HAUM mentioned that she uses cups frequently and introduced the cat bowls and dog bowls at her house, as well as transparent cups she has been using recently. In particular, HAUM revealed that she has dedicated dishes used when eating specific menus.

JIYU said that while she doesn't use dishes often, she likes tableware itself. Based on their experience at the studio, the two members talked about activities they want to do in the future, concluding their studio date with conversations such as, "It would be fun to make human faces with the works we made."
