Yoo Byung-jae, Yoo Se-yoon, and Lee Eun-ji: Podcast Talk Breaking the Boundaries Between Legacy and New Media

Comedian Yoo Byung-jae talked about the changes in the media environment and survival methods as an entertainer alongside Yoo Se-yoon and Lee Eun-ji. In the video released on September 23, 2026, on Yoo Byung-jae's YouTube channel, the three individuals gathered in the format of 'The 1st Yoo Byung-jae Podcast' to share their experiences crossing between legacy media and new media.

Between Legacy and New Media, Different Starting Points for Comedians

Yoo Byung-jae stated that his origins lie in 'legacy' traditional comedy stages such as Comedy Building and Comedy Big League. On the other hand, Lee Eun-ji explained that although she debuted through Comedy Big League, she later reached her peak in new media through YouTube and 'alternative character' activities, freely moving between legacy and new media. Yoo Se-yoon was also introduced as a person who has continued new media attempts, such as 'Yoo Se-yoon's Art Video' in the past.

Lee Eun-ji recalled starting YouTube in a portfolio format by uploading her first cover dance video in 2019. Yoo Byung-jae shared an anecdote of visiting seniors in the past to do well on YouTube, sharing the experience of receiving advice from a senior at the time to "just do it like you're doing Cyworld."

Lee Eun-ji introduced herself as a "Yoo Se-yoon Kid," stating that she was greatly influenced by him. Yoo Byung-jae mentioned the 'Art Video' project he did with Yoo Se-yoon in the past, looking back on their connection since the planning stages.

Lee Eun-ji chose broadcaster Yoo Jae-suk as her role model. She said, "I want to be a person like Yoo Jae-suk senior," and shared her mindset of trying to sincerely become close with the cast members during the filming of 'Earth Arcade.' She suggested that the process of naturally trying to build intimacy because the bond between cast members was important during overseas filming led to her current activities.

The cast also conversed about the changing attitudes of entertainers as the media environment changes. Yoo Byung-jae mentioned his experience where answers were predetermined at legacy media filming sites, and the trial and error he experienced after moving to new media. In particular, he expressed concerns about how unexpected remarks or attitudes at filming sites are perceived depending on the nature of the media.
