Ahead of the Chuseok holiday, various processed foods utilizing local agricultural products are gaining attention. The Rural Development Administration selected five types of processed products made from local agricultural products and introduced their characteristics through its official YouTube channel. The products introduced this time consist of everything from traditional snacks to instant meals and tea, making them suitable not only as holiday gifts but also as daily snacks.

Gangjeong containing natural ingredients and Cheorwon Fragrant Glutinous Rice Chaltteok

The first product introduced is 'Seven-Color Melvin Gangjeong' released by 'Geongangjeong'. This product uses various natural ingredients such as mulberry, perilla seeds, garlic, jujube, black beans, sesame seeds, ginger, omija, tangerine, and peanuts. In particular, it is manufactured without colorants, preservatives, or artificial additives, and it is characterized by using grain syrup so that it does not stick easily to teeth. The participant in the video expressed the opinion that it is suitable as a snack for children.

The second product is 'Dolmaengine Chaltteok'. This chaltteok, made using Cheorwon fragrant glutinous rice, is managed in a frozen state immediately after production. It preserves the texture of the rice grains to add the fun of chewing, and in addition to holiday gifts, it is good for use as a breakfast substitute or a snack for children.

The third product is the freeze-dried 'Cube Soybean Paste Soup'. Made using domestic ingredients such as napa cabbage, Korean soybean paste, green onions, and enoki mushrooms, this product consists of two flavors: original and spicy. The advantage is that it can be cooked immediately by adding 200ml of water, allowing it to be enjoyed conveniently during outdoor activities such as camping, hiking, and traveling.

The fourth is 'Ssalmi Chip' made from rice produced in Icheon. It is provided in vacuum-packed packaging and comes in various shapes, including heart shapes. The last fifth product is 'Chestnut Tea' utilizing Gongju chestnuts. This product, made by roasting the whole inner kernels of Gongju chestnuts, is characterized by a subtle rice aroma. Chestnut Tea was mentioned as a good product to gift as a tea substitute to people who do not enjoy coffee.
