A recipe for 'Butter Soy Sauce Noodles' that maximizes the savory flavor of butter and soy sauce has been revealed. According to a Paik Jong-won PAIK JONG WON video, this ultra-simple menu features somyeon noodles mixed with a seasoning sauce containing plenty of butter and green onions, topped with a fried egg, characterized by using somyeon to create a deep flavor.

Key tips for the green onion seasoning sauce and boiling somyeon

The key to determining the taste of the dish is the green onion seasoning sauce and the temperature of the somyeon. First, thinly slice the green onions to about 0.3cm thickness, then add 2 tablespoons (20g) of dark soy sauce and 1/2 tablespoon (6g) of sugar into a bowl and mix to create the seasoning sauce. It is good to stir it in advance while the water is boiling so that the sugar can dissolve well. Add the prepared green onions to this and mix together.

It is recommended to use somyeon instead of ramen noodles. Add 1 serving (100g) of somyeon to boiling water and boil for about 3 minutes. The video emphasizes that after boiling the noodles, it is important to use them while they are still hot without rinsing them in cold water. This is because the heat from the hot noodles melts the butter and allows it to blend well with the seasoning. After boiling, drain the noodles in a sieve and place them in a bowl.

Completion stage using butter and a fried egg

Once the noodles are ready, the cooking sequence is very simple. Place 1 tablespoon (12g) of butter in the center of the hot noodles. Leave it so the butter melts naturally from the heat of the noodles. Place a fried egg, made in a pan with plenty of cooking oil, on top. The video explains that it is easier to shape the egg if you crack it into a bowl beforehand and then pour it into the pan.

Finally, drizzle the prepared green onion seasoning sauce around the noodles and top with seasoned seaweed flakes (2g) to complete the dish. The finished noodles are eaten by breaking the egg yolk and mixing it with the butter and seasoning sauce. The person appearing in the video expressed this taste as "the taste of the soy sauce noodles I used to make and eat in Yeoktap-ri, Oga-myeon, Yesan County, South Chungcheong Province, being made after immigrating to Hawaii," conveying a unique and savory flavor.
