How to Make Delicious Beef and Vegetable Porridge
Beef and vegetable porridge made with rice and glutinous rice, with cooking steps, seasoning tips, and refrigerated storage guidance.
How to cook easy-to-digest porridge when you have no appetite
Porridge is easy to eat. Made by adding 5 to 7 times the amount of water to various grains such as rice, barley, or millet and cooking them until soft, porridge requires time to cook.
When cooking porridge, it should be simmered gently over medium heat to ensure the grains expand properly and become soft. It is best to use a pot with a thick bottom and avoid stirring too frequently. If you season it from the beginning, it can easily become too salty as it boils down. You can enjoy a richer flavor by topping it with cheese or seaweed according to your taste.
An easy-to-follow recipe for beef vegetable porridge
Ingredients: 80g minced beef, 1 cup rice, 1/4 cup glutinous rice, 1/5 carrot, 1 bok choy, 1/6 zucchini, 6 cups kelp stock, 1 tbsp sesame oil, beef seasoning (1 tbsp garlic, 1 tbsp rice wine, a pinch of black pepper)
1. Wash the rice and glutinous rice thoroughly, soak them in enough water to cover them for about 2 hours, then drain.
2. Marinate the beef with the seasoning ingredients.
3. Mince the zucchini, carrot, and bok choy.
4. Drizzle sesame oil in a pot, add the rice and glutinous rice, and sauté until the grains become translucent.
5. Add the beef and sauté, then pour in the kelp stock; once it boils over high heat, reduce to low heat.
6. Add the carrot and zucchini, and simmer over low heat while stirring to prevent the rice from sticking to the pot until the grains have expanded.
7. Add the bok choy, boil briefly, turn off the heat, and season with salt or soy sauce.
How long can beef vegetable porridge be stored?
It is best to eat it while warm after cooking. Refrigerate any leftovers, then add a little water and bring them to a boil before eating.
