Table tennis legend Yoo Nam-kyu spent time with his daughter Yoo Ye-rim in Daehangno, enjoying a birthday celebration date.
According to a video from the TV CHOSUN JOY channel's 'Star Documentary My Way' uploaded on September 29, 2026, Yoo Nam-kyu spent a special day to celebrate the birthday of his daughter Yoo Ye-rim, who recently visited Daehangno. In the video, Yoo Nam-kyu mentioned that his daughter Yoo Ye-rim's birthday was this past October 4, and stated that he suggested touring Daehangno out of apology for not being able to properly take care of her on her actual birthday.

In the video, Yoo Nam-kyu looked at his daughter Yoo Ye-rim and mentioned their similar appearance, saying, "Because she looks like her father, people know she is Yoo Nam-kyu's daughter wherever she goes." Yoo Nam-kyu also expressed his feelings of being upset, noting that while they played together a lot during her elementary school years, since she entered puberty, she seems to want her own time and appears to be distancing herself from her father. In response, Yoo Ye-rim reacted that it was simply because she had no time.
Yoo Nam-kyu also mentioned his daughter's usual tastes. He explained that while she works hard like a man when exercising, she likes cute accessories and stickers when shopping. In the video, Yoo Ye-rim showed her everyday side by purchasing stickers.
Dalgona game and table tennis skills... The competition between Yoo Nam-kyu and Yoo Ye-rim
The two spent time enjoying a dalgona game in Daehangno. Yoo Nam-kyu showed confidence, claiming he was the 'Dalgona King' in the past, but in the actual game, Yoo Ye-rim succeeded while Yoo Nam-kyu failed. Yoo Ye-rim expressed confidence in her success, saying the game was "too easy."
Yoo Nam-kyu commented on his daughter's concentration, explaining that she has a characteristic of concentrating intensely and then surging forward all at once. He also added that her showing a strong side regarding the things she likes seems to resemble himself. At the end of the video, Yoo Nam-kyu showed a close bond between father and daughter by suggesting to his daughter that they play a game of table tennis later.
