Day 6 of the TMB in the Alps: Breathtaking Swiss Scenery Amidst Heavy Rain

In the 6th day of the TMB journey conducted on August 17, 2026, the footage captures the sudden weather changes encountered while crossing the border from Italy to Switzerland and the Alpine landscapes that unfolded within them. According to the video from the YouTube channel 'Mountain Climbing JSun', the participant departed from Hobo Campground and moved toward La Fouly in Switzerland via Col Ferret, experiencing heavy rain and strong winds.

The journey from Italy's Hobo Campground to Switzerland

The 6th day journey began at the Hobo Campground in Italy. Preparing for the fact that prices would rise significantly upon entering Switzerland, the next destination, the participant decided to eat a hearty breakfast at the campground. For the breakfast menu, they chose espresso, lemon chocolate, and a croissant sandwich, costing 6.8 euros (approximately 15,000 won). Afterward, using a shuttle bus, the participant arrived at the Val Ferret terminus near Courmayeur and began the full-scale mountain trek.

The participant proceeded on a course starting at an altitude of about 1,800m and increasing by about 700m to reach 2,500m. Due to the weight of the fully packed backpack, which was being carried again after a 4-day gap, physical strain was felt from the beginning; the schedule required about 50 minutes to reach Rifugio Elena and about 5 hours to reach the final goal, La Fouly. Near Rifugio Elena, the scenery of the Ferret Valley and the mountain ranges visible in the distance could be observed.

Sudden weather changes and hiking in the rain at Col Ferret

As the hike progressed, the weather conditions deteriorated rapidly. As the altitude increased, the wind grew stronger, the temperature dropped due to the lack of sunlight, and a drizzle began to fall. In particular, when reaching the vicinity of Col Ferret, the weather changed abruptly as clouds rolled in. The participant moved while being hit by strong winds and rain blowing from the Swiss side, describing it in the video as being "like a disaster movie."

Due to the uncertainty of mountain weather, the participant prepared for the rain by putting on a raincoat and switching phones to protect them from the rain. In the high-altitude sections, concerns about a drop in body temperature arose due to the strong winds and rain, and the path itself became slippery. The participant mentioned that during hiking in the rain, paths can split or become slippery, and noted that because mountain weather is difficult to predict, one must prepare thoroughly for rain.

Mystical Alpine scenery appearing after the rain cleared

After the situation of heavy rain and strong winds passed and the rain subsided to some extent, a landscape appeared where the green ridges of the Alps blended with the clouds. Upon reaching an altitude of 2,300m, a mystical view unfolded with clouds covering the area below. The participant commented on the unique scenery that can only be seen after it rains, saying, "It is a landscape that would make sense even if you were told immortals live here."

The journey continued toward La Fouly, and the participant took a short rest while drinking a latte at a mountain hut. The video concluded by capturing the Swiss meadow scenery along with the participant contemplating the next move while waiting for the rain to stop.
