Albania, arrived at while continuing a European motorhome trip, was a place with a unique identity different from its neighboring countries. According to the video from the YouTube channel 'No mad Shaun', the border crossing procedure in Albania was very simple, allowing easy entry with just a vehicle registration certificate and a passport. Unlike the adjacent Montenegro which uses the euro, Albania was introduced as a country with a strong ethnic identity that uses its own unique language, different from Slavic or Greek dialects, and uses its own currency called 'lek'.

Free Camping in Front of the Beach and the Taste of Local Food

Upon arriving in Albania, the traveler received guidance from a local that camping near the beach is completely free. Scenes in the video confirm that one can park and stay in a space right in front of the beach, and it is even possible to use electricity at locations equipped with power supply facilities. The local showed a very kind attitude, saying, "If you want, you can even park on the sand." The traveler expressed satisfaction with the local's hospitality while confirming the good parking environment in front of the beach.

The process of experiencing local food continued. The participant, who tasted 'Byrek', a traditional food with layers of meat visible, expressed satisfaction with its savory taste. Additionally, they tried a uniquely shaped dish that appeared to contain lamb, along with a dish served with yogurt cheese. However, the flavors were so intense that they noted, "It might be hard for those with weak status to eat," referring to the strong spiciness of the cheese. The participant conveyed the unique feeling of Albanian food while recalling experiences from their trip to Mongolia.

Political Corruption and Poor Traffic Conditions

Behind the bright image of Albania, economic and social difficulties also exist. Through conversations with locals, stories of the controlled life during the past communist era and the current economic situation were shared. A local explained that despite Albania having abundant resources (mountains, rivers, lakes, approximately 270km of coastline, etc.), protests against the government occur every day due to politicians' corruption and the issue of selling off resources. They mentioned the current social conflicts compared to the past communist era when people were controlled by only about 4 hours of TV broadcasts a day.

The traffic situation also acted as a hurdle for the trip. In cities including the capital Tirana, indiscriminate parking and severe traffic congestion were observed. The video captures scenes where cars are not properly parked on the road, creating a mess, and situations where citizens waiting for buses have to wait for more than 30 to 40 minutes. Additionally, a local's negative view regarding the traffic situation, which seemed to aim at collecting money through enforcement, was mentioned.

The Dangers of Wild Camping in a Motorhome and Driving Fatigue

The participant, who is on a long-term trip of 5 months, expressed the difficulties of wild camping in a motorhome. While attempting to park to enjoy the natural scenery, they faced difficulty deciding on parking spots because many areas, such as near cliffs or bridges, are rugged and dangerous. In particular, the situation of having to continue driving for more than 4 hours while passing through narrow and rough roads became a physical burden. The participant expressed concern about parking in dangerous terrain, saying, "Doing this wild camping is really not easy."

With the fatigue of a long-term trip accumulating and variables such as vehicle maintenance like battery issues being added, it showed that traveling Europe using a motorhome is by no means an easy journey. Before moving to southern Albania, the participant took a brief rest while eating local food to prepare for the next leg of the journey. In the final part of the video, they are shown momentarily soothing their nostalgia by discovering South Korean ingredients at a local market.
