A camper van that departed from the Port of Busan arrived in Slovenia in two months, one month later than expected. According to a video from the YouTube channel 'No mad Shaun', the arrival was originally scheduled for one month, but the schedule was delayed due to the aftermath of war occurring during the transport process. Consequently, the traveler faced unexpected difficulties, spending approximately 1 million won in stay expenses during the week spent waiting to retrieve the vehicle after arriving in Slovenia.

Camper Van Transport Delayed by War Aftermath and Arrival in Slovenia

The camper van that departed from the Port of Busan was originally scheduled to arrive in one month, but it arrived in Slovenia after a total of two months due to war issues occurring during transport. The traveler planned a reverse route, visiting Europe first without passing through Russia, and then heading toward Hong Kong via Turkey, Central Asia, and Mongolia. This route was chosen due to low interest in Russia. While the method of circling the Cape of Good Hope during the transport route costs more and takes longer, it was a choice made in consideration of the war situation.

The local prices encountered immediately after arriving in Slovenia provided a foreign experience for the traveler. The price of a grand-sized iced Americano purchased at Istanbul Airport was 13,000 won, and the traveler compared it to prices in South Korea, mentioning, "It is the most expensive Americano among the Starbucks coffees I have had in my life." The cost of the first accommodation in Slovenia, a hostel, reached 130,000 won per day, showing a departure from expectations regarding prices in Eastern Europe. Additionally, regarding the clear air and unrealistic mountain scenery of Slovenia, a small country with a population of 2 million, the traveler expressed admiration, saying, "The air is insane."

Variables in the Vehicle Pickup Process and Concerns Over Additional Costs

Having arrived in the Slovenian port city of Koper, the traveler is struggling to retrieve the camper van that was delivered in a container. To pick up the vehicle, essential items such as a vehicle registration certificate (laminated), insurance certificate (220 euros for 6 months), an international driving permit, and a passport must be prepared. In particular, the traveler showed meticulousness by even bringing a jump starter to prepare for any situation.

When opening the container where the vehicle is stored, verification by Slovenian tax officials is required, and the fact that additional costs may arise during this process acted as a variable. In the video, the possibility that additional costs amounting to approximately 800 euros (about 1.3 million won) could occur during the tax official's verification process increased the traveler's tension. If two vehicles are placed in one container, the cost is halved, but in a case like this where a vehicle is picked up alone, the cost burden is higher. As the traveler had already spent about 1 million won on accommodation and other expenses for a week, they expressed concern regarding these additional costs.

Retrieving the Camper Van Inside a Narrow Container

The task of taking the vehicle out from inside the container involved physical difficulties. The situation where the engine had to be started while the vehicle's battery was disconnected, combined with the narrow space inside the container, increased the difficulty of the task. The traveler struggled to pull the vehicle out of the container and continued the urgent pickup process, such as checking the battery connection status. In the video, while expressing difficulty by saying "the vehicle is too big" due to the narrow space, the traveler worked to safely remove the camper van while communicating with local officials.
