Ingredients: salmon, pepper, salt, olive oil, teriyaki sauce, thyme
Directions
1. It is best to use skin-on salmon. Place the salmon on a cutting board and pat it dry with a paper towel.
2. Lightly season the salmon with salt, pepper, and a small amount of olive oil.
3. Add olive oil to a pan heated over high heat, then cook the salmon with the skin side touching the pan.
4. Once the skin is nicely browned, turn the salmon so the flesh touches the pan and cook for about 1–2 minutes.
5. Sear each edge of the salmon steak for about 10–15 seconds, as though frying it.
6. Place the salmon skin-side down in the pan again, then add the thyme. Carefully spoon the thyme-infused olive oil over the flesh of the salmon.
7. Once the salmon is cooked, remove it from the pan and let it rest.
8. After resting, serve the salmon steak with teriyaki sauce and enjoy.
