4 Tips for Taking the Perfect Photo of Your Dog

[FAM Times=Reporter Woo Ji-young] Capturing a dog on camera is no easy task. The moment you take out the camera to snap a photo, your dog may suddenly disappear into the distance. Even when you try to capture your lovable, adorable companion, a photo may fail to convey all of the dog's charm.

Here are four tips for taking the perfect photo of your dog.

1. Use burst mode.

Photos of dogs often come out blurred because they somehow sense that they are being photographed and dart around to escape. If you want to capture your dog in a particular pose, use burst mode. Set the camera to burst mode and start pressing the shutter before your dog strikes the pose. Among the dozens of photos taken, you may get lucky and find one that is not blurry.

2. Take photos with your dog.

Dogs feel at ease when they are with their owners. Even a dog that avoids the camera may remain calm during a photo shoot when accompanied by its owner. Frequently showing your dog the camera is also a good way to help it become accustomed to being photographed. Owners are also encouraged to stand in front of the camera with their dogs.

3. Use props.

Props can create a different atmosphere. Dolls can make a dog look even cuter, while glasses or hats add a distinctive touch. Using a toy that your dog usually enjoys is another good option, as it allows you to photograph your dog naturally playing with it.

4. Use sunlight instead of flash.

A camera flash can traumatize a dog because dogs are not accustomed to flashes and may be startled by them. If the weather is sunny, try to take photos near a window or outdoors. The gentle afternoon sun is more suitable for photography than the intense sunlight at noon.
