According to the YouTube channel Culture and Art for You, this "Brad Wals Photography Exhibition: Life in Motion, Art in a Moment" will take place at Groundseesaw Yongsan in Seoul from September 11, 2026, to March 1, 2027.

A Creative Director Who Uses Spaces Found via Satellite Maps as Canvases

Brad Wals's works are not simply accidental moments captured from a high place. According to the video, the artist defines himself not as a photographer, but as a 'creative director' who oversees space and stage. He uses Google satellite maps to obsessively find locations such as swimming pools or tennis courts that possess perfect lines and planes. Once a location is decided, he meticulously designs everything—from the coordinates where the person will stand to the axis of the body and the direction of light and shadow—without a 1cm error.

In particular, considering that movements on the ground are easily distorted from a vertical top-down perspective from the sky, the artist collaborates with choreographers who are former members of the Korean National Ballet and the national artistic swimming team. Through this, he realizes the most beautiful forms when viewed from the sky. The artist utilizes drones not merely as simple filming equipment, but as a 'brush' to paint on the massive canvas of the ground, expanding aerial photography into the realm of contemporary art.

New Works Collaborating with Lia Kim and the First Unveiling of Live Ballet Performances

This exhibition showcases approximately 130 works, ranging from Brad Wals's representative pieces to unreleased works. The special aspect of this Korean exhibition lies in its three-dimensional composition that goes beyond a visual experience. The video revealed that new works collaborated with Lia Kim, a choreographer from the global dance crew 1MILLION, will be unveiled for the first time in the world through this exhibition. This work, in which the flowing lines of Korean dance meet the artist's vision to be reborn, is a key attraction of this exhibition.

Additionally, in the center of the exhibition hall, live ballet performances will take place, allowing visitors to vividly experience the movements of the dancers in the photographs. The performances will be held at scheduled times every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, providing a sense of presence to visitors. A dedicated photo zone where visitors can follow the artist's gaze is also prepared, allowing visitors to directly experience the composition of the works.
