[FamTimes reporter Park Ju-hye] When the weather improves, many people take their pets out for walks, but not many pets are willing to wear a leash from the outset.

Walking a dog is much easier than walking a cat, especially if you also want to use the walk as your own exercise.

While we can be certain that dogs want to go for walks, we often have many misconceptions about dog leashes.

Some people notice that their dog does not want to be on a leash and think this is the root of the problem.

However, owners often create situations that make their pets uncomfortable with the leash.

Before walking a dog, the owner should put the leash on at home, even before leaving the house, so the dog can get used to it.

If the dog chews the leash, the owner should hold it in their hand and prevent the dog from chewing it.

All these steps can help a dog become familiar with a leash.

Once the dog no longer sees the leash as a toy, the owner should take the dog outside for a walk and help it get used to the feeling of having a leash around its neck.

It will take some time for the dog to recognize how it feels when the leash is loose or tight.

The most important thing is for the dog to feel comfortable with the leash.
