'Priority' Management Methods Needed When Experiencing Decreased Physical Strength Due to Menopause Symptoms at Age 48

In a recent video from the YouTube channel Organization King, a 48-year-old female participant shared a conversation regarding the menopause symptoms she is experiencing, the resulting sudden decline in physical strength, and her attitude toward life to overcome these challenges. The participant confessed that she has been experiencing menopause symptoms, including a cessation of menstruation for about four months since the beginning of this year, causing difficulties in her daily life.

Physical Changes and Health Checks Due to Menopause Symptoms

The participant reported experiencing a disruption in her bodily rhythms since the onset of menopause. She expressed that daily life has been difficult due to symptoms such as irregular menstrual bleeding, the body feeling hot or cold at night, and feet feeling cold or experiencing heat surges. In response, several pieces of health management advice were provided during the conversation in the video.

First, it was noted that regular health checkups are important when physical abnormalities are felt, and specifically, it was recommended to check thyroid function (hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism) through blood tests. If there are no issues with the thyroid, it can be viewed as menopausal symptoms; it was mentioned that if symptoms such as sleep disorders, depression, or physical pain become severe enough to make maintaining daily life difficult, one could consider being prescribed hormone medication at a hospital. While there are views concerned about the side effects of hormone medication, consulting with a professional and taking it when symptoms are difficult to endure can be one method.

'Priority' Strategies for Managing Sudden Decreased Physical Strength

The biggest change that arrived along with the physical changes was the sudden decrease in physical strength. The participant explained that, unlike before, her physical strength is at a level that does not even reach 60% of what it used to be. In this situation, specific lifestyle strategies to use energy efficiently were presented.

The first is 'energy distribution.' In a state of decreased physical strength, the energy that can be used in a day must be divided and used. Management such as adjusting the amount of activity in the morning and afternoon is necessary to endure until the evening. The second is the 'simplification of priorities.' While in the past she tried to handle three or more tasks a day, during a period of decreased physical strength, priorities should be set with the mindset of performing only one important task per day. This is also a process of 'letting go,' which involves accepting one's changed physical condition as it is and planning a daily routine accordingly.

Why Organizing Belongings Leads to Organizing Life

The video emphasized that organizing belongings is more than just the act of making a house clean; it is an important habit that determines one's overall attitude toward life. It is explained that in the process of organizing belongings, one develops the ability to discard unnecessary things and select only what is essential, and this ability applies to other areas of life.

The 'power of selection' cultivated through organizing belongings can be applied to human relationships and life tasks. Examples include organizing relationships that make one struggle or letting go of tasks that drain energy. Especially as one moves toward the latter half of life, it is important to decide where to concentrate one's belongings and energy. The participant added that one needs an attitude of organizing one's surroundings in advance so that remaining family members do not experience confusion, asking the question, "If I were to lose my life even today, would this item have been absolutely necessary?" Ultimately, organizing is not simply clearing away visible objects, but can be described as a process of focusing on oneself and making life simple.
