Daegu Second Ice Rink Officially Opens in July… Skate Rental for 3,000 Won
The Daegu Second Ice Rink officially opened on July 1 following its completion in March, providing a facility for various ice sports.
A space has been prepared where people can glide on ice even during the sweltering summer when temperatures exceed 35 degrees Celsius. According to a Culture Portal video, the Daegu Second Ice Rink officially opened on July 1 after its completion this March. This location is equipped with an environment where anyone, even if not a professional athlete, can enjoy ice skating according to their own level.
A complex ice rink capable of everything from skate rentals to spectating
The Daegu Second Ice Rink is a facility where various disciplines such as ice skating, figure skating, short track, speed skating, and ice hockey can take place. Users can rent skates inside the rink for 3,000 won per person, and lockers are also available for use.
Usage fees are set at 5,000 won for adults, 4,500 won for teenagers, and 4,000 won for children. It is available on both weekdays and weekends, and ice skating can be enjoyed except during ice resurfacing times. For citizens who do not skate themselves, the structure allows them to move to the second-floor spectator seats to watch the action unfolding on the ice.
Weekday lessons in operation and environment for beginners
According to a facility official, the Daegu Second Ice Rink is in official operation after a two-week non-opening period in June. Currently, short track lesson classes are being operated from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM on weekdays, and the hiring of figure skating instructors is planned for the future.
Regarding the proficiency of users, a rink official stated, "If about ten people come, about seven of them tend to skate well," adding, "If you have experience skating roller skates in the past, you can skate sufficiently well, and even if you fall once or twice during your first visit, you can get used to it quickly." Ice skating was introduced as a lifestyle sport that not only allows one to learn a sense of speed and balance but also helps strengthen lower body strength.
