KBS Buddy Lucky's Farm: The Daily Life of Troublemaker Puppy Daebak, a Frequent Runaway
A video from KBS Animal TV : Animal for You animal4u reveals the chaotic daily life of Daebak, a puppy and successor to the three-generation guard dog Lucky…
According to a video from KBS Animal TV : Animal for You animal4u, the chaotic activities of Daebak, a puppy and the successor to Lucky, a guard dog protecting the farm for three generations, have been revealed. Although inheriting the lineage of the brave guard dog Lucky, Daebak showed a free-spirited side, preferring to go outside rather than guarding the farm.
The successor Dari found in the bean field and the crisis of Lucky's family
The guard dog Lucky has a successor, a puppy named Dari. However, one day, an emergency arose in Lucky's family when Dari suddenly disappeared. The mother, Lucky, felt an instinctive anxiety and began searching for Dari, and the sibling Daebak also belatedly joined the search. Lucky detected movement while checking between the bean leaves and was finally able to find Dari, who was wandering alone in the bean field. As if having personally experienced that leaving home leads to hardship, Dari returned to her mother's arms.
Meanwhile, with the chili pepper harvest being poor due to drought, Lucky's sense of responsibility became even more heavy. As wild animals targeted the chili pepper fields, Lucky continued the search with tension. However, Lucky's son Daebak is still a handful. Seeing Daebak running around near the chili pepper field and using it as a playground, the owner expressed mixed expectations and worry about whether he would be able to protect it well later. Daebak's behavior, never staying still for a moment, raised questions about whether he would truly be okay as Lucky's successor.
Daebak's unusual way of escaping the heat with mud baths and his daily life
Daebak's instinct to run away did not stop. While the owner, Ho-seon, went out to check on the village elders, Daebak caused a commotion by rummaging through the car and eventually chasing after it all the way to the neighborhood. Amidst the sweltering weather, the way Daebak chose to escape the heat was unexpectedly a 'mud bath.' Seeing Daebak throwing himself into the mud to enjoy a mud pack, the owner burst into hollow laughter, saying, "He's filthy."
Having returned covered in mud, Daebak was placed in a situation where he had to bathe every day. Due to Daebak's free spirit, the owner unintentionally causes a nuisance by intruding into neighbors' vegetable gardens, but he is described as an unlovable existence thanks to his 'super clingy' side of not leaving the owner's side. After bathing, Daebak showed his own know-how of rubbing his body on the grass to dry off, enjoying himself. In the video, Daebak also showed a dislike for being washed, but when removing moisture, he had a good time rubbing his body on the grass.
The weaning period, Lucky's lethargy, and Daebak's first patrol
The peaceful afternoon at the farm was short-lived, as a new concern arose for Lucky. Although it was time for the two-month-old puppies to be weaned, they still could not give up their mother's milk. In particular, the puppies harassed Lucky by attempting to suckle not only from Lucky's milk but now even from their sibling Daebak. Seeing the little ones rushing toward Daebak provided Lucky with a brief moment of rest.
Due to the continuous demands of the puppies and the demands of parenting, Lucky's energy depleted rapidly. While Lucky would normally run to her when called and perform night patrols vigorously, in the video, she was seen lying down lethargically or looking listless. The owner cast a worried gaze, wondering if Lucky had developed depression during the weaning process. Ultimately, instead of the listless Lucky, Daebak took over the farm patrol that night by following Lucky. However, Daebak showed that he still has a long way to go, as he focused more on doing his business in the field rather than his role as a guard dog.
