Relationships with others help people understand themselves better. They can discern what they want to do alone or with a partner. They also have certain qualities they expect from a partner. Above all, however, the pain felt after losing a loved one teaches people that their love was genuine.

The heavy emotions we feel now mean that we have grown enough to learn how to say goodbye to people and to the moments we treasured most. Kari Wilson, a columnist specializing in psychology and relationships, wrote in an article for Thought Catalogue, “If you are in pain now, it means you have learned how to love and let go.”

Wilson also said, “People are hurting now because they gave all the love they had. That pain shows that they did not hesitate to love in their lives.”

Pain, therefore, should never be viewed negatively. Because it symbolizes all the experiences that cannot be changed, people should accept it peacefully. If they had never experienced pain, they would never have become who they are today. Remember that this emotion has changed people and can make them better.

It is time to view pain from a different perspective. In other words, you are hurting now because you learned to let go for a valid reason. This pain also means pouring all your love into yourself once again. You must allow yourself to feel the pain as it is. Let your memories pierce your heart. Ironically, pain ultimately helps you grow.
