Once again, talent-show season has arrived at kindergartens and daycare centers, along with graduation season at middle schools, high schools, and universities. Candy flower bouquets have recently become popular among parents looking to give their precious child something a little more special. Why not make one yourself—also called a “candy bouquet”—and give the homemade bouquet for a talent show or graduation? Here is how to make a candy bouquet.

Materials: Artificial flowers, lollipops, wire, floral tape, kraft paper, wrapping paper, balloon sticks, suede string, ribbon, scissors, Scotch tape, etc.

1. Cut the artificial flowers to be used in the candy bouquet to an appropriate length and bend one end of the wire into a U-shape.

2. Hook the U-shaped wire into the groove between the artificial flower and its stem.

3. Secure the wire tightly with floral tape so that the wire-inserted flower does not come loose.

4. Prepare the flowers and leaves to be used in the candy bouquet following steps 1 to 3 above.

5. Since the lollipops used in the candy bouquet are too short to be used as a bouquet on their own, insert them into balloon sticks and wrap them well with Scotch tape so they are not loose.

6. Arrange the artificial flowers with wires, leaves, and lollipops one by one into the desired shape.

7. Once the shape of the bouquet is set using the artificial flowers and lollipops, tie them securely with suede string so the shape does not wobble.

8. Hold both ends of the wrapping paper and overlap them diagonally. Lightly drape the paper over the bouquet rather than pressing it down so that it retains its volume and looks attractive.

9. Place the bouquet in the center of the diagonally overlapped wrapping paper and gather it toward the flower stems. After gathering the paper, gently smooth out the parts where the volume has decreased with your hands to restore it.

10. A candy bouquet looks beautiful when wrapped in layers of kraft paper and transparent wrapping paper, so prepare the kraft paper and transparent wrapping paper using the same method as in step 9.

11. Wrap the candy bouquet in the order of wrapping paper, kraft paper, and then transparent wrapping paper, and tie it with a ribbon so the wrapping does not come undone.
