Emergency Beauty Kit for the Bride on Her Wedding Day
Lip color, balm, oil-control sheets, concealer and cotton swabs help brides quickly handle common wedding-day beauty emergencies.
Tears may flow while greeting the parents, or carefully applied makeup may wear off while swaying along to a congratulatory song. Enjoy every happy moment to the fullest, but bring a few beauty items in case the unexpected happens. They can help you handle wedding-day emergencies without panicking.
1. Lip tint or lipstick
Eating a meal or drinking champagne can cause lip color to fade. Julie Fredrickson, founder of Stowaway Cosmetics, advised, “Bring a small lipstick in your pouch, or ask your makeup artist to put some of the lipstick applied that morning into a small container. If your lipstick wears off, lightly dab it on with your finger for a touch-up.”
2. Lip balm
Justin Ledu, a makeup artist at Streete, said, “It is fine to apply lip balm over lipstick,” adding, “It provides instant moisture to the lips and can actually help keep the lipstick from wearing off.”
3. Oil-control sheets
If your face becomes shiny as time passes, simply use oil-control sheets instead of touch-up powder. They remove excess sebum and leave the skin looking fresh.
4. Concealer
This essential item comes in handy if a fingernail leaves a mark on your face or sudden redness appears.
5. Cotton swabs for makeup touch-ups
Keep a few cotton swabs in your pouch in case your eye makeup or mascara smudges.
Bringing the items listed above means there is no need to worry about beauty emergencies that may arise on your wedding day.
