Home cleaning appliance specialist Shark Clean shared easy ways to remove coffee stains using lemon juice, salt, vinegar, or baking soda in an article on its website.

The acid in lemons is effective at removing stubborn stains and grease while leaving a pleasant scent after cleaning.

First, cut a fresh lemon in half, squeeze the juice onto the stained area of the cup, and rub it in. After 15 minutes, dampen a microfiber cloth with water and scrub the stained area. Once the stain has been removed, rinse with cold water.

If the stain remains, add a little salt to the lemon juice and repeat the steps above.

To remove coffee stains with salt, first fill the cup with lukewarm water. Sprinkle salt evenly throughout the cup, making sure to completely cover particularly heavily stained areas. For the best results, dampen a microfiber cloth and scrub the stained area with the salt in circular motions.

As before, rinse the cup with cold water once the stain is gone.

Besides lemon juice and salt, vinegar can also clean coffee stains because of its strong acidity. Unlike lemon juice, however, using vinegar requires a microwave.

First, heat one cup of vinegar in the microwave for 60 seconds. Put on rubber gloves, pour the heated vinegar into the coffee cup, and leave it for 3 hours.

After 3 hours, pour the vinegar out of the coffee cup and rinse it under clean running water.

Baking soda can also be used to remove coffee stains. Sprinkle baking soda over the coffee stain and add a little water to form a thick paste. Apply the baking soda paste to the stained area and leave it for 30 minutes. Then scrub with a microfiber cloth to remove the coffee stain.
