London College of Fashion Graduate Freya's Studio, a Space Filled with Self-Made Clothes and Hand-Painted Prints

In a video from the Design House official channel 'Haenggajip', Freya, who completed a degree in pattern cutting at the London College of Fashion, introduces her flat in London, which serves as both her living space and studio. Freya graduated from the London College of Fashion, which belongs to the University of the Arts London, and stated that she is currently preparing to launch her personal brand.

Vivienne Westwood Collaboration Project and Self-Made Garments

In the video, Freya showcased garments she made herself. She explained that she made the jacket she is wearing, noting that the design allows the sleeves to be detached or adjusted. In particular, she mentioned a collection collaborated with Vivienne Westwood, which was a second-year project conducted during her degree program. The collection took a 'Bedtime' mood as its concept, and Freya developed the designs with a water theme, inspired by her childhood in Wales. She used silk organza to realize the feeling of water and stated that the prints on the fabric were created using hand-painting methods she drew herself or through direct dyeing.

She also mentioned her experience of teaching herself to make bikinis during the 2020 pandemic. Although she had not received formal garment construction training at the time, she shared an anecdote where she ordered fabric online to make bikinis herself, and after sharing them on Instagram stories, she received continuous inquiries from acquaintances.

King's Cross Flat and Working Environment Reflecting a London Student's Daily Life

Freya's workspace is a flat located near King's Cross, a major area in London. She lives here sharing a bedroom, living room, kitchen, and dining room, while utilizing part of the space as a studio. The space in the video is equipped with tools necessary for garment production, such as industrial sewing machines and buttons. In the living room, a sofa bed is placed for guests, and various props are arranged, including a leather chair that appears to have been brought from Morocco.

Freya used drawings she made herself to decorate the space. She filled the walls with drawings created using a method of making grid patterns by placing dots. Additionally, the space contains fashion-related books, including books related to Yves Saint Laurent.

Interest in Fashion and Vintage Shopping in London

Her deep interest in fashion is also evident in her shopping habits. Freya revealed that she previously worked at Zara for eight years. She explained that she enjoys vintage shopping and using charity shops in London, purchasing clothes from vintage stores in Notting Hill or shops in the Hackney area. In particular, she also purchases products at high discount rates through sample sales.

The video also includes a scene where Freya encounters a product related to the Korean food Shin Ramyun. Freya expressed interest in Korean food, mentioning that she has eaten Korean food before.
