Jo Jin-se and FIFTY FIFTY, Guide to National Scholarship Eligibility and 2027 Reform Details

A video has been released in which creator Jo Jin-se explains key information about the National Scholarship and the future changes to the support system to the members of FIFTY FIFTY. In the 'The Essentials of Scholarships' content uploaded to the M2 official channel, Jo Jin-se takes on the role of an instructor to deliver information regarding the eligibility, selection process, and the section reform plan that will be applied starting from 2027 for the National Scholarship.

Who will apply for the National Scholarship? From current students to freshmen

In the video, Jo Jin-se explained that the National Scholarship is a system where the Korea Student Aid Foundation verifies the student aid sections and grades to provide funds to students who meet the requirements, in order to alleviate the tuition burden of university students. When the FIFTY FIFTY members asked about the application targets, the video mentioned that both current students and transfer students are eligible to apply.

In particular, for students on a leave of absence, it was guided that they cannot receive the scholarship during the semester they are on leave, but they can receive it in the semester they return to school. Additionally, prospective university students (freshmen) who have completed the CSAT are also included in the target group, as they can apply in time for when they must pay tuition before admission.

From 2027, sections receiving the same amount of support will be grouped into Ga, Na, Da, Ra, Ma sections

Jo Jin-se emphasized the changes in the student aid section system that will be applied from 2027. Currently, it is operated with detailed divisions from section 1 to section 19, but from 2027, it is scheduled to be reorganized into 5 sections—'Ga, Na, Da, Ra, Ma'—by grouping sections that receive the same amount of support. He explained that this is a method of grouping existing sections to make them easier to see, and that the support targets themselves are not changing significantly.

For example, if a student currently in section 6 is included in the 'Na' section after the reform, they can receive the same amount of support as before. However, he added that it will be operated in a way that leaves the 'Ma' section to indicate that one is not a target for support.

Multichild? Multichild! Application of National Scholarship for Multichild Families and online application method

Regarding the scholarship for multichild families, those with three or more children will be reviewed for both the general National Scholarship and the National Scholarship for Multichild Families. It was guided that it is impossible to receive both simultaneously, and the National Scholarship for Multichild Families will be applied preferentially.

Application for the National Scholarship is only possible online through the Korea Student Aid Foundation website or mobile app. During the application period, applications can be made 24 hours a day, including weekends and public holidays, but it must be conducted in an environment where internet access is available.
