The meat exploration video of Gwangju, Jeonnam, uploaded to the YouTube channel 'YOOXICMAN', has surpassed 1 million views approximately one day after its release. Exploring Straw-fire Grilled Pork Belly in Mongtan-myeon, Muan County, Filled with Straw Aroma

In the video, YOOXICMAN conducted a food trip visiting meat restaurants in the Namdo region, including Gwangju, Jeonnam. The first destination is 'Duam Sikdang' in Mongtan-myeon, Muan County, which is known for its straw-fire grilled pork belly. In the video, YOOXICMAN mentioned that the straw-grilling method used at the famous restaurant 'Mongtan' in Samgakji, Seoul, was inspired by the restaurant in Mongtan-myeon, Muan County, and introduced it as a holy land to enjoy the aroma of straw fire.

At Duam Sikdang, the process of grilling meat using straw fire was captured. YOOXICMAN tasted the pork belly with a subtle straw aroma and demonstrated how to eat it paired with Chilgyejang, made by grinding crabs from the tidal flats with their shells, and saeuryeong (large-eyed herring) salted seafood. YOOXICMAN conveyed the local taste through the process of dipping the meat in Chilgyejang or eating it with onion kimchi, green onion kimchi, and more.

A Namdo Meat Journey Continuing from Gwangyang Bulgogi to Changpyeong Gukbap

In addition to the straw-fire grilled pork belly, this video covers various meat dishes in the Jeonnam region. According to the video description and filming location information, YOOXICMAN visited the following local restaurants.

Included are the Wonjo Samdae Gwangyang Bulgogi-jip, which is known to have been visited by BTS and Son Heung-min, and 'Wonjo Jangsu Tongdak', a specialty restaurant for native chicken course meals that can be enjoyed in the 20,000 won range per person. Additionally, the main route of the video consists of food items from Gwangju, Jeonnam, and nearby areas, such as Changpyeong Gukbap, which contains abundant organs, and Meomureun House, which sells Choco Mochi rice cakes.

Through this journey, YOOXICMAN explored the characteristics of Namdo food, which is rich in basic ingredients such as rice, salt, sauces, and salted seafood, and the resulting flavors of meat dishes. Following the previous Gyeongsangbuk-do Sambuja Jeju special, this domestic food trip focused on highlighting meat restaurants in the Namdo region.
