A travel route has been revealed that allows one to experience the urban culture and natural landscapes of Gwangju in a single day using only public transportation without a private vehicle. According to a video from Culture Portal, starting from Gwangju Songjeong Station, one can check out a 'premium pedestrian travel course' that enjoys both the city's vitality and tranquil nature using the subway and bus.

Spaces of Culture and History Connected by Subway

The starting point of the journey is Gwangju Songjeong Station. Departing from the station and using the subway, one can quickly arrive at Asia Culture Center Station, the heart of downtown Gwangju. This area is a suitable place to enjoy culture and take a rest, as it gathers galleries, theaters, live spaces, and various cafes.

In particular, near this modern cultural space, sites imbued with the history of the 1980 May 18 Democratization Movement are located. The video mentions that this historical background leads to current peace and artistic inspiration, presenting a route where one can encounter both history and modern culture within the city.

A Sanctuary in Nature Met by Moving via Bus, Gwangju Lake Eco Park

After finishing the journey in the city, one moves to the outskirts of the city via bus. The presenter in the video cited the process of the scenery visible through the bus window gradually changing from concrete buildings to green nature as a joy that only public transportation users can enjoy.

The destination is 'Gwangju Lake Eco Park ' located at the foot of Mudeungsan Mountain. Embracing wetlands and an artificial lake of approximately 330,000㎡, this space serves as a sanctuary where one can escape the noise of the city and take a static rest. It is a course where one can experience a leisure different from the pace of the city while enjoying the calm waves and clean air.

In conclusion, by appropriately utilizing the subway and bus, one can experience both the urban charm and the tranquility of nature in Gwangju. Traveling using public transportation, instead of slowing down the speed of movement, provides an opportunity to discover the city more deeply.
