Jo Jung-suk reveals filming behind-the-scenes to celebrate 10th anniversary of drama 'Jealousy Incarnate'

To mark the 10th anniversary of the drama 'Jealousy Incarnate', actor Jo Jung-suk looked back on the work's famous scenes and shared behind-the-scenes stories from that time. Through his YouTube channel 'Channel Jo Jung-suk', Jo Jung-suk watched key scenes from the drama 'Jealousy Incarnate' together and shared stories related to the characters and the filming site.

Jo Jung-suk, fascinated by the setting "Men can also get breast cancer"

Jo Jung-suk mentioned the initial setting of the work. He revealed that when he first received the proposal for the project, his agency expressed concerns regarding the setting that the male protagonist is a breast cancer patient. However, Jo Jung-suk explained the situation at the time, stating, "I loved the setting that men can also get breast cancer," and decided to appear in the drama after persuading his company because he was fascinated by that point.

Additionally, in the video, he mentioned the scene where the character Lee Hwa-shin calls Na-ri (played by Gong Hyo-jin) after being diagnosed with breast cancer, adding that it contained his intentional setting to look lonely and pathetic by exposing one shoulder more.

Filming sites where it was hard to hold back laughter and slapstick behind-the-scenes

Jo Jung-suk revealed specific episodes from the time of filming. In particular, he recalled moments when it was difficult to hold back laughter among the scenes filmed with Gong Hyo-jin. He said that even while filming serious scenes, the two actors would burst into laughter first, causing filming to be halted.

Behind-the-scenes regarding slapstick acting also followed. He revealed that when filming a scene involving Na-ri's past where faces collide, the filming proceeded without separate safety devices. He recalled the situation where Gong Hyo-jin asked him out of concern, saying, "We had to bump faces for the elevator scene." Furthermore, he drew attention by revealing that the rap lyrics shown in the scene where he confesses after drinking alcohol were written by himself.

"Lee Hwa-shin is a charming man" affection for the character

Jo Jung-suk defined the character Lee Hwa-shin in 'Jealousy Incarnate' as "a truly charming man." He showed deep affection for the role, enough to mention Lee Hwa-shin when asked in the past which character he would want to introduce to his daughter.

He emphasized the importance for an actor to meet a role that fits perfectly and perform it perfectly, saying, "The character Lee Hwa-shin was a role that fit so well it's hard to imagine if it weren't Jo Jung-suk." He continued by expressing his hope to meet a romantic comedy work again in the future.
