In response to the Chuseok holiday, the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs has announced livelihood stability measures that will allow for the purchase of domestic agricultural and livestock products at significantly discounted prices. In particular, when using large marts or medium and small-sized marts, unlike before, domestic agricultural and livestock products can be discounted by up to 40% without a per-person discount limit.

Mart and Traditional Market Discount Benefits and Expansion of Seasonal Product Supply

According to a video from the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, large marts and medium and small-sized marts will sell all domestic agricultural and livestock products, including seasonal products, at a 40% discount from September 3 to 23. The characteristic of this measure is that, unlike past holidays, it applies 'unlimited' discounts without setting a per-person limit.

Benefits for traditional market users have also been prepared. From September 16 to 20, if you purchase domestic agricultural products at traditional markets, a program will be operated to provide 20% Nonghwal Gift Certificates or allow for a refund via Onnuri Gift Certificate after purchasing goods. Additionally, a special 20% discount exhibition will be held at 'Baro Market', a network of 22 direct transaction markets nationwide, and the online platform 'Baro Farm'.

Supply measures to stabilize holiday prices will also be strengthened. To supply seasonal products, volumes will be supplied at 1.6 times the usual level starting three weeks before the holiday, and slaughterhouses will operate on weekends to prevent supply disruptions. In particular, considering egg price instability, plans are in place to secure sufficient egg supplies. For gift sets, the supply volume will be expanded from 150,000 sets last year to 230,000 sets this year.

Rural Tourism Benefits and Support Measures for Producers and Pets

Programs for domestic travelers utilizing the holiday period will also be operated. During 'Rural Tourism Week', which operates on the second week of every month, experience programs and accommodation discount benefits are provided. Along with discounts for visiting forest welfare facilities, the Racecourse Park will operate throughout the holiday period, and Hansik Space E:eum and the National Agricultural Museum of Korea will be open throughout the entire holiday period except for the day of Chuseok.

Support for farmers is also included. For producers suffering from wind and flood damage or livestock diseases, preparations are being made to pay compensation in a lump sum before the holiday, and plans are being reviewed to increase the advance payment of public reserves and purchase funds from the existing 30,000 won to 60,000 won to facilitate early payment.

Information for pet-owning households will also be provided. Information will be posted on the website so that people can check animal hospitals operating during the holiday period, and guidance on the integrated rescue system for abandoned and lost animals will be provided in parallel. Furthermore, in September, the original store service of the 'Smart Spending App', which allows users to check store prices by item and discount information, is scheduled to launch first in five regions: Changwon, Wonju, Jeonju, Cheongju, and Suwon.
