NELL has shared the official description regarding the short film related to 'Don't Let Me Go'. According to the description box, the video title is 'Don't Let Me Go (The Short Film)'. The video begins with the sentence, "What on earth happened yesterday?" and deals with a dream-like story of a single night experienced by a bluffing duo who have nothing going for them.

A night leaving only hangovers and faint memories

The official description presents the basic situation of the short film. After regaining consciousness, the characters are left in a state where only hangovers and faint memories remain. The description notes that they want to believe, at least in that moment, that they were clearly the protagonists. 'Don't Let Me Go' is introduced as a separate video related to the song, with content that specifies the short film format in its title.

The setting of the video is not summarized solely by a description of gloomy events. The original material introduces them as a "bluffing duo who have nothing going for them" and describes the time they spent as a "dream-like story of a single night." While only hangovers and faint memories remain, it is also presented that they want to believe that night as the protagonists' moment.

The reason for changing direction from the initial plan

NELL explained that when they first thought they should make a video related to 'Don't Let Me Go', they imagined a ultra-low-budget video of a gloomy duo who are pessimistic about reality. Later, they reconsidered whether it was right to leave the feeling of the song that gloomy, and in that process, the planning returned to the starting point.

The official description also contains the perception that, at some point, NELL began to view videos not as a means for promotion, but as something closer to the form of a record they want to leave behind. From that perspective, the initial plan was judged to be in too dark and negative a direction. NELL revealed that when they thought of this song later, they reset the direction toward making a video where only infinitely light and fun memories could come to mind.

A composition mixing memories of movies and existing music videos

Following the new direction, NELL thought of the movies 'The Hangover' and 'Dumb and Dumber' that they liked when they were young. They introduced that they decided to mix in a spoonful of memories from the 'Good night' music video and a bit of absurd fantasy. The description added that although things grew a bit large, thanks to that, it seems this song will remain as a joyful memory rather than a sad one.

The official channel also provided viewing guidance, stating that the video contains profanity and somewhat rough content. 'Don't Let Me Go (The Short Film)' is described as a completed video that broke away from the initial gloomy ultra-low-budget conception and moved toward a direction of leaving light and fun memories.
