Therefore, to decide on lighting for an interior, one must be familiar with various types of lighting. Ambient lighting used in home interiors is divided into recessed, surface, and pendant types.

1. Recessed lighting

Recessed lighting is hidden in the ceiling and is used to brighten the space. It requires less cleaning, but there must be sufficient space in the ceiling during installation. Additionally, because it is installed inside the ceiling, a disadvantage is that recessed lights cannot illuminate a wide area.

2. Surface lighting

Surface lighting comes in various forms, from small fixed lights that hold a single bulb to complex fixed lights that can hold multiple fluorescent lamps. Surface lighting can illuminate a wide area. However, the disadvantage of surface lighting is that dust can easily accumulate and it may hang from the ceiling, requiring regular cleaning. While there are surface lights of various brightness levels, products such as LED living room lights can provide sufficient brightness even with low wattage.

3. Pendant lighting

Pendant lighting requires a brighter light source and can sometimes be difficult to distinguish from task lighting. Although they take up more space because they hang down, they are a special type of lighting that brings light closer.
