Create a New Hairstyle With a Wig
Wigs offer versatile styles without damaging natural hair, while proper washing and air-drying help human-hair wigs retain their shape.
According to Forbes, the wig and hair-extension industry is now a multibillion-dollar business. Women's wig brands named after famous stars are also emerging.
Boutiques specializing in fashion wigs have also opened, and wigs can be purchased online. People can now switch wigs to create a variety of hairstyles as easily as changing their eyeshadow color.
One advantage of wearing a wig is that it allows you to try bold hairstyles without damaging your natural hair. This is because creating certain hairstyles can require excessive use of hair products, flat irons, hair dryers and other styling tools.
In the past, it was easy to tell when someone was wearing a wig, but many wigs today look so natural that others can hardly tell they are wigs.
When using a human-hair wig, it is important to clean it thoroughly and regularly before and after use. Brush away dust with a wide-tooth comb, dissolve shampoo in cold water, and soak the wig. After about 3–5 minutes, rinse the wig in cold water. Then mix conditioner into fresh cold water, soak the wig again, remove the excess water and let it dry. However, do not twist or wring out the wig, as this can ruin its shape. It is best to place the wig on a wig stand and allow it to air-dry.
