Goat Yoga Gains Popularity in the United States
Goat yoga classes on Nashville farms combine exercise with playful baby goats and are fully booked until the kids reach breeding age.
[Fam Times reporter Kang Gyu-jeong] Yoga is a calming form of exercise that not only strengthens muscles but also relaxes the mind. But what if goats joined in? This trend is now spreading on farms in Nashville, United States. Here, yoga is no ordinary class like those offered at local gyms. On farms in the area, goats take part in yoga. Farm goat yoga classes have become an interactive activity and workout for both goats and people. During yoga, baby goats released at the beginning of the session walk around eating nearby grass. They sometimes climb onto people's backs and leap over them. Melody Nash, who started goat yoga, said, "I was raising goats, and that led me to goat yoga. It was a truly novel idea. There is no other way to describe it." Although adding goats to an ordinary yoga class is highly unusual, participants are genuinely satisfied. They are delighted that they can bring goats into the yoga class. Even people who were not interested in yoga have joined the classes and discovered a new way to appreciate goats. The idea may have seemed highly original and unusual at first, but these goat yoga classes have become enormously popular. Every class is fully booked until the current baby goats are old enough to have offspring, suggesting that goat yoga's popularity will continue for some time.
