Bruschi, the Dog with the World's Largest Eyes

[FAM Times reporter Park Joo-hye] Bruschi, a Boston terrier living in the United States, was listed in Guinness World Records as the dog with the largest eyes in the world.

Bruschi's eyes measure an astonishing 28 millimeters in diameter. Bruschi lives in Texas, United States, with another Boston terrier named Toby and their owner, Victoria Reed.

Reed did not notice anything unusual about Bruschi until friends and family commented on his eyes. Reed happened to submit an application to Guinness World Records, and Bruschi became a world record holder.

Bruschi and Toby get along well. Although the two dogs are the same breed, besides Bruschi having larger eyes, another difference is that Bruschi is much noisier and more outgoing.

Bruschi loves wearing clothes purchased especially for him and running for hours chasing a tennis ball. Toby, on the other hand, likes to sit quietly and watch his friend Bruschi play happily.

Because of his large eyes, Bruschi was frequently threatened by other dogs. They thought he was staring at them and trying to pick a fight. But as Bruschi gained confidence, he began growling back whenever he was threatened.

Several years ago, one of Bruschi's eyes protruded. Reed immediately rushed him to an animal hospital for treatment. Bruschi now lives a happy and healthy life, his large eyes gleaming.

Before Reed adopted him, Bruschi had suffered abuse and also experienced enteritis. Bruschi has now put his past trauma behind him and is living happily while enjoying his fame.
