Roy Kim shares recording process for remake of 'Sparkle', OST from the movie 'Your Name'

Singer Roy Kim will present a new voice by remaking 'Sparkle', the OST from the movie 'Your Name'. Through a released video, Roy Kim shared the process of refining the lyrics and practicing after rewatching scenes from the movie before recording the song.

Lyrics refined to capture the emotions of the movie 'Your Name'

For this remake work, Roy Kim rewatched scenes from the movie 'Your Name' before recording to reflect on the emotions of the work. He stated that he put his heart into the work by refining the lyrics stitch by stitch and testing them to fit his voice in order to convey the emotions of the movie exactly as they are. Roy Kim, being a fan of the work himself, sang by putting precious lyrics into the melody he cherishes, and mentioned that he felt a touching emotion the more he listened to the song.

Participation in the J-POP REMAKE Vol.4 project and permission from RADWIMPS

This remake was carried out as part of the 'J-POP REMAKE Vol.4' project. Through this project, Roy Kim reinterpreted 'Sparkle', the OST from the movie 'Your Name'. Roy Kim expressed infinite gratitude to RADWIMPS for permitting this remake and to Kangnam for creating the project. He added that he hopes the public will like his new voice layered over the familiar melody.

Roy Kim's remake of 'Sparkle' is scheduled to be officially released on Friday, September 11, 2026, at 6:00 PM (KST).
